Tonight was a very proud and sad night for me. It was my 6'3" baby boy's last home football game. As tradition is they honor each boy with a highlight about him, Ethylen Perkins, one of Daniel's teachers wrote about him. Also highlighted were Corbin VanLeeuwen, Brady Meekoff, and Skiler Oliverson. They played Carey which is an awesome team(#1 in our Conference). I was very impressed with Carey's coach, they scored twice very quickly on us then pulled back their starters. We were thrilled to just finish the game. As you can see by the first picture you can see what Daniel did with the Silly String he got in his gift bag, his "sisters" got the brunt of that. He especially likes picking on Brook, she said he got her with the "wet" end of the can, it was so funny because she had it hanging off of her eyelashes. Below is what Mrs. Perkins wrote about Daniel:
Daniel Hepworth is the Salutatorian for the Graduating class of 2009 as well as Senior class Vice President. He has beeon on the High honor roll each year in high school. During his four years Daniel received awards for being top English, Welding and Plant Science student. Daniel is involved in National Honor Society, Future Farmers of America and Business Professionals of America. Daniel is also apart of the Times-News Murtaugh High School column.
Daniel received his Eagle Scout award and participated in the 2005 National Boy Scout Jamboree in Virginia, He is actively involved in his church, serving in numerous leadership positions.
Daniel participated in Track, Basketball, and Football all four years of high school. While involved in these athletics, he was a basketball captain and received the award for JV basketball MVP and the Red Devil Football award for Football. Daniel is currently captain for Murtaugh's Football team. Daniel also is featured on the cover of the 2008 KSAW Pigskin Preview Magazine.
No doubt Daniel is a young man with a bright future ahead of him. Thank you for all you have done Daniel, your smile and fun attitude towards life will only benefit you in the years ahead.
I am so proud of Daniel and just want him to know his Dad and I love him so much! Thanks for being such a great son! Way to go!
